La plateforme FEDORA promeut le renouveau du ballet et de l’opéra en soutenant 31 organisations dans 15 pays. Elle bénéficie de fonds européens depuis 2017, à raison de 2 millions d’euros pour la période 2017-2021, puis 2,1 millions pour 2022-2024.

Fedora's initiative to innovate in opera and ballet funding might just be essential to the long-term survival of the artforms in Europe amidst a climate of decreasing public funding for the arts.
It could also provide answers to getting younger audiences in the door, seeing work with which they can personally connect.
So far at least, Fedora's list of 85 member opera houses, festivals and ballet companies seems to suggest that the importance of finding new audiences and new funding sources is a topic on the minds of many in ballet and opera.

"Cette plateforme engage le public dans des projets artistiques" explique à l'AFP la directrice de FEDORA, Edilia Gänz. "C'est un peu la démocratisation du mécénat; tout le monde peut faire une différence." En échange, le donateur a accès aux coulisses ou à une répétition.
L'impact ne reste-t-il pas limité vu le coût élevé notamment des productions d'opéra? Certes, "mais le but est aussi d'attirer un nouveau public, notamment jeune, en l'impliquant dès la conception des projets artistiques", selon Mme Gänz.
