Now in its fifth decade, the festival brings together internationally renowned artists and emerging talents across a wide spectrum of genres, from classical and chamber music to jazz and contemporary performance. Its artistic identity is shaped not only by its diverse programming, but also by its unique approach to place: concerts unfold in exceptional venues including churches, vineyards, castles, and historical landmarks, transforming the entire region into a living stage.
With around 50 concerts presented throughout the season, the mosel musikfestival continues to explore new ways of connecting audiences with music, combining artistic excellence with cultural discovery and regional heritage.
The 2026 programme features a wide range of artists, including mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital, jazz vocalist Andreas Schaerer, and clarinettist David Orlowsky, reflecting the festival’s commitment to genre-crossing collaboration and innovative concert formats.
By activating both iconic and unconventional spaces, the mosel musikfestival offers a compelling model for how performance can extend beyond traditional venues, creating immersive cultural experiences that engage audiences in new and meaningful ways.
Through initiatives that broaden access, encourage experimentation, and strengthen connections between artists, audiences, and place, the festival contributes to the ongoing evolution of the European performing arts landscape.
