Mosel Musikfestival

Im Kurpark,
Bernkastel-Kues, Germany

The festival was founded in 1985 under the name Mosel Festwochen by Hermann Lewen and has been held annually since 1991 as part of the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz. Its program covers a wide range of styles: chamber music, classical and romantic orchestral works, baroque and contemporary music, vocal ensembles, as well as events combining jazz, swing, and chanson. Concerts take place in prestigious locations all along the Mosel valley: churches, monasteries, castles, palaces, and old wine cellars, such as the baroque manor at Machern or the Basilica of Trier.

In 2025, the festival celebrates its 40th anniversary with a symbolic opening concert in the baroque hall of Machern Monastery, the very place where it all began. Throughout the summer, more than 14 concerts, bringing together around 40 international artists, will take place in various sites around Bernkastel-Kues, a true musical journey set in an enchanting landscape.
