Prof. MgA. Jan Burian
Being part of an organization like FEDORA means being part of the European cultural space. Thanks to this, we can also share our experience in topics that are important for cultural institutions, such as sustainability, digitization, innovation... precisely because of this, we can rightly call ourselves an institution for the 21st century. "Prof. MgA. Jan Burian, Director General"

The National Theatre is the prime stage of the Czech Republic. It is also one of the symbols of national identity and a part of the European cultural space, with a tradition spanning more than 130 years. It is the bearer of the national cultural heritage, as well as a space for free artistic creation.

Today, the National Theatre is made up of four artistic companies – the Opera, Drama, Ballet and Laterna magika. It artistically manages four stages – the three historical buildings: the National Theatre (1883), the State Opera (1888), and the Estates Theatre (1783), and the more recently opened New Stage (1983). The Opera, Drama and Ballet companies perform not only titles from the ample classical legacy, in addition to Czech works, they also focus on contemporary international creation.

DISCOVER OUR ON-GOING SEASON
For the 141st theater season 2023/2024, the National Theater will offer 81 productions in its repertoire, including 20 premieres. 28 groups of season-long subscriptions are prepared for the audience.

January 2023, we successfully launched a loyalty program that is beneficial for everyone. In addition to the permanent repertoire, the National Theater organizes a number of concerts and accompanying and educational projects.

SUPPORT OUR ORGANISATION
Fundraising activities, the tradition of which dates back to the very beginnings of the National Theatre's existence, have three basic pillars: corporate sponsorship, patronage club and public collections.

Patronage and sponsorship is a social networking platform. Regular meetings in representative spaces of theater buildings, meetings with creative teams and with performers. Excursions behind the scenes and preparation of staging projects, joint trips abroad.

ABOUT "SUSTAINABILITY"
Sustainability is a key topic at the National Theater at the moment. We have divided the project into three key areas so that we can proceed clearly and efficiently: sustainable buildings (energy consumption of our buildings), sustainable productions (ecological, gentle and efficient production of decorations) and sustainable operations (everything else from running offices, printing materials, catering and next).
