New Audiences
Our educational programme, MM Schools, comprises a wide range of activities for teachers and pupils, centred on curiosity, play and imagination. Super Saturdays are afternoons at La Monnaie filled to the brim with music and workshops for the entire family. Finally, a special concession offers a free ticket to youngsters under 15 for concert or recitals provided they are accompanied by one adult with a valid ticket.

Innovation & Creativity
Orfeo & Majnun is an inclusive, intercultural, multilingual music theatre project. It involves multiple art forms created by citizens from all generations and backgrounds, professional artists, and groups in risk of social exclusion. Fusing the Greek myth of Orfeo and Eurydice with the pre-Islamic love story of Layla and Majnun a series of workshops will result in the «Parcours», a parade in the public space, and in a fully staged music theater performance.

Emerging Artists
La Monnaie’s MM Academy is a project launched in 2015 that offers Belgian conservatory students an opportunity to supplement their training with professional work experience while being “embedded” in our orchestra or chorus. After auditions, they can spend at least a year gaining stage experience, following master-classes, attending our performances and meeting opera professionals. Graduates with real potential as soloists are selected to remain part of the company as MM Soloist or MM Laureate.
