FEDORA creates the conditions for bold artistic ideas to grow beyond borders. For HUMANHOOD, this collaboration represents an opportunity to connect LIGHT with an international network committed to artistic excellence, innovation and meaningful cultural exchange.
HUMANHOOD is an internationally recognised dance company founded in 2016 by Catalan artist Julia Robert and British artist Rudi Cole. Through a distinctive choreographic language developed over more than a decade of artistic research, HUMANHOOD creates immersive experiences that combine instinctual physicality, hypnotic light environments, sound and movement to explore human connection, perception and consciousness.
The company is known for its fluid movement quality, rhythmic precision and its ability to translate abstract and spiritual concepts into powerful physical experiences. Its work challenges conventional perceptions of dance while continually exploring the transformative potential of the moving body.
HUMANHOOD has presented work internationally at leading theatres, festivals and cultural institutions including Sadler’s Wells, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Festival Grec, Mercat de les Flors, Venice Biennale, CINARS and PAMS. Alongside its stage productions, the company develops immersive experiences, participatory projects, artistic research and digital innovation, including MULTIVERSE, a virtual reality work recognised by Creative Europe’s Digital on Stage platform.
Operating across Europe and internationally, HUMANHOOD engages audiences and participants through performance, education and community programmes, fostering collective experiences that inspire connection, reflection and transformation.
HUMANHOOD is currently balancing the international touring of VORTEX with the artistic development of LIGHT, our next large-scale creation. Throughout 2026, the company is engaged in a series of creative residencies across Europe while continuing to present VORTEX internationally, including its London premiere at Sadler’s Wells East in November 2026.
HUMANHOOD creates transformative artistic experiences that connect audiences with profound human questions through movement, sound and light. Donor support enables us to develop ambitious new work, nurture artistic talent, expand international reach and ensure that innovative contemporary dance remains accessible, relevant and impactful for diverse communities.

Currently in development through a series of artistic residencies across Europe, LIGHT is HUMANHOOD’s next major creation. Bringing together choreography, sound, light and spatial design, the project explores the transformative power of light and our place within a larger interconnected universe. The premiere is planned for 2028.
