arcis_collective merges the intimacy and elegance of chamber music with the expressive freedom of contemporary dance. The collective’s performances explore themes that resonate on social and cultural levels. A unique aspect of arcis_collective is its commitment to transforming musicians into active performers, making them an integral part of the theatrical experience. Dancers are given the opportunity to connect more deeply with the music, creating a seamless blend between the two art forms. arcis_collective aims to bring dance concerts to both conventional dance and music venues while also exploring unconventional performative sites.

This season, we are touring Quirky Nightclub Chronicles, K.I.nd of human, Heimat, and White,
bringing our artistic language to new stages. At the same time, we are creating Blue-Bach and Dark,
two bold premieres on the horizon.
Donate to grow our artistic and education projects — every amount advances a more innovative,
accessible music world. Become a supporting member of the Arcis Saxophone Quartet and
arcis_collective e.V. to sustain long-term work. Prefer targeted help? Fund JSB:48, arcis scholars, or our
education programs, or sponsor special performances and events. Share our work and volunteer at
events or recordings — every gesture helps us reach people.
K.I.nd of Human (arcis_collective, Munich 2022) is a 60-minute choreo-musical evening for four
dancers and four musicians. With choreography by Roberta Pisu and Leonard Kuhn as the composer for
the music, the work interrogates AI’s capacities when facing human conditions (physicality, emotionality,
uniqueness), ultimately asking what constitutes the human in an algorithmic age.
