Organisational Members

FEDORA is delighted to welcome arcis_collective as a new member of the FEDORA Network.

With their distinctive artistic approach, merging chamber music and contemporary dance into a unified performative language, the Munich-based collective brings a refreshing and deeply contemporary vision to the European performing arts ecosystem. Founded on a desire to dissolve traditional artistic boundaries, arcis_collective draws inspiration from the intimacy and emotional depth of chamber music while embracing the freedom and individuality inherent in contemporary dance. Their mission is to elevate the encounter between musicians and dancers, transforming musicians into expressive performers and inviting dancers into a deeper, more embodied relationship with sound.

The collective is led by Roberta Pisu, Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer, the team surrounding her being both multidisciplinary and forward-thinking, blending artistic excellence with research-minded practice. Together, the members of arcis_collective explore themes of social and cultural relevance through performances that value artistic intimacy, clarity of form, and the power of collaboration.

One of arcis_collective’s central ambitions is to bring dance into unconventional performance spaces, often venues traditionally dedicated only to music. By doing so, they offer audiences a renewed way of experiencing live classical music, heightened by physicality, dramaturgy, and the immediacy of movement. This cross-disciplinary fluidity allows the collective to overcome the division between two historically segregated artistic worlds. Their experiments also extend to site-specific performance practices, deepening engagement with space and inviting new artistic relationships. Internally, the collective fosters continuous research among resident musicians and dancers, while opening their creative process to outside artists eager to explore a more integrated performance methodology.
