Presentation

  Fin de partie, taken from the famous play by Beckett, is the first opera by György Kurtág, perhaps the greatest living composer. It is an exceptionally important event in contemporary music, entrusted to the care of conducter Ingo Metzmacher, and directed by Pierre Audi. With this project the Teatro alla Scala authoritatively reasserts its role in the field of contemporary music and renews the decision to include in its season a new work every year. Special care has been taken in the search of singers/actors needed in in this extraordinary piece of music and theatre: Hilary Summers will sing the role of Nell, Frode Olsen the Role of Hamm, Leigh Melrose will be Clov and Leonardo Cortelazzi Nagg. The project is a co-production between Teatro alla Scala, the Aix-enProvence Festival and De Nationale Opera. The premiere will take place in 2018.
