As part of MusicTown 2018, our Platform Member, Irish National Opera, organized a free performance of a new production of Mozart's short opera Der Schauspieldirektor (The Opera Director), particularly aimed at young people. The performance featured a cast of young Irish singers directed by Caroline Staunton, and the Irish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Sinéad Hayes. The performance is particularly aimed at those who have not been to the opera before.

Organised by Franco Pulcini, the conference took place in the Ridotto dei Palchi "Arturo Toscanini" before the première of Erich Wolfgang Korngold's opera "Die tote Stadt".
