"Fedora was always a great supporter, especially of participatory projects, such as "unerhört" in 2023, and we look forward to further successful collaborations in the future!"

Julien Chavaz, General Director

Theater Magdeburg is the municipal theatre of Saxony-Anhalt's state capital. At the opera house, the opera ensemble, the Compagnie Ballett Theater Magdeburg and the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra present a wide variety of performances: from grand opera and contemporary projects to symphony concerts, operetta, musical or ballet. Since 2008, the Theater Magdeburg has been presenting the DomplatzOpenAir in the city centre at the end of the season. It is a large cross-disciplinary open-air musical productions, well known throughout Germany.

The Schauspielhaus accommodates the drama section of Theater Magdeburg. As a modern repertory theatre, Schauspiel Magdeburg is particularly dedicated to contemporary drama. Other formats in the Sidekick series - discussion events on various occasions, matinees, readings, parties and other special events - also offer space for encounters and discussions.

Guest performances regularly take the ensembles of the Theater Magdeburg to other European countries and to renowned festivals. With the department for Education & Participation, Theater Magdeburg offers the people of the city the opportunity to experience art and theatre in a different way, such as theatre clubs or community projects. Everybody is invited to join!

From here we move through the epochs - from Telemann to Mozart and Beethoven to Elena Kats-Chernin. ABOUT "THE WIND IN THE WILOWS"
A cautious mole who has no desire to clean the house, a daredevil water rat who wants to discover the world, and a boastful toad who loves fast cars - these are just a few of the enchanting characters from the children's classic The Wind in the Willows. Their fantastic adventures have finally conquered the music theatre stage in 2021 - in the opera by the Australian composer and this year's Composer in Residence Elena Kats-Chernin. She has developed a version especially for the tried and tested format of the participatory children's opera at Theater Magdeburg, which allows school classesand families direct musical and scenic participation.
