Luciano Messi

"My vision is that of a theatre in constant dialogue with its territory and in the heart of Italy’s cultural challenges. An inclusive and sustainable opera house ready to lead the socio-cultural transition we are living today, supported by its community through a mutual exchange of tangible and intangible resources." Luciano Messi, Sovrintendente

Teatro Regio di Parma is one of Italy's most famous theatres of tradition, with a history of nearly 200 years. Alongside its lyric season, every year it hosts Festival Verdi, the only monographic festival worldwide that is dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, for which much scientific research is conducted. Teatro Regio reaches its territory through special projects outside theatre that embrace places of fragility and the outskirs.

The artistic excellences employed ensure high qualiy productions that are rooted to the community while speaking to an international audience. Developing educational programs both for professionals, through the academies, and for young audiences, through tailored productions, allows Teatro Regio to combine tradition with innovation.
