Founded in 1950, English National Ballet (ENB) aims to take ballet to the widest possible audience and reach people from all walks of life. We aim to celebrate the classics whilst evolving the art form and strive to make ballet relevant, exciting, and accessible to audiences old and new.

Although based in London, ENB tours large-scale work across the UK and internationally, completing over 100 performances in an average year. We work with a broad range of choreographers and artists and we champion talent development.

ENB has won Olivier Awards and National Dance awards in recognition for our work, including the Critics’ Circle National Dance Award for Best Company Response to the Pandemic. As the first UK ballet company to establish an education department, creative learning, participation and outreach remain central to our artistic vision and charitable mission.

Through our outreach, creative learning, and Dance Health and Wellbeing Research programmes, we connect people from wide demographics across the country and deliver positive physical, mental, and societal benefits through dance. Our work ranges from Talent Development, Health and Wellbeing to Children and Young People. Our projects stretch across the UK from Liverpool to Ipswich, and we have reached 40,000 people with our programmes in 10 different locations.

Aaron Watkin became Artistic Director of English National Ballet in August 2023.

English National Ballet continues to bring world-class ballet to the widest possible audience through live performance and through digital platforms. Our 2023/24 season includes:

- Our Voices, a new work showcasing the vast possibilities of ballet

- Giselle, the iconic ballet, re-imagined by Akram Khan

- Nutcracker, the magical Christmas tradition for all the family

- Giselle, a celebration of one of the greatest Romantic ballets

- Carmen, Johan Inger's fresh approach to the classic tale of seduction and obsession

- Swan Lake, a first introduction to the magical world of ballet

- Swan Lake in-the-round, showcasing the splendour of ballet on a grand scale.
