Trg Republike Hrvatske 15,
10000 Zagreb, Croatia

"The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb is a unique cultural organization, being the principal theatre institution in Croatia.
As the main national theater, the CNT in Zagreb is the leader of Croatian theatre production.
Along with promoting national cultural identity, we are an incubator of contemporary artistic reflections.
I strongly believe that our exceptional ensembles, supported by the efficient management team, ensure the bright future of the CNT in Zagreb".
Iva Hraste-Sočo, PhD
General Manager

The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb was founded in 1860 and since 1895, it has been residing in the building designed by the renowned architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer.

Under its roof it has Opera, Drama and Ballet ensembles with over 500 employees and its own production of sets and costumes.

Each year it produces at least 12 premieres, 20 re-runs and gives more than 220 performances. The theatre has a stage with the adjoining auditorium with 710 seats.

The repertoire of the CNT in Zagreb includes world and Croatian classics, national and contemporary creations through which it establishes numerous cultural liaisons and gives visiting performances on stages in Europe, Russia, America, Japan and Australia.

The Croatian National Theater in Zagreb is recognized in European and world circles — three permanent ensembles perform on esteemed world stages. With its program, the Theater greatly contributes to Croatian and European cultural offers.

The theater participates in international projects, contributes as a partner to the programs financed by the European Union, and cooperates with eminent foreign cultural institutions and artists.
