Baltic Ballet - Marija Simona Simulynaite i
Baltic Ballet Theatre BBT, and director choreographer Marija Simona Simulynaite, preparing the application for new project POISON which we’ll submit to the Fedora competition in 2026. We are looking for partners from the Fedora platform who might join us as project collaborators.
I, as a director-choreographer seeking opportunities to stage ballet or opera productions at theaters across Europe—and beyond. I would loved to be able to reach out Fedora members, theater directors, and artistic directors.
Marija Simona Simulynaite - CEO, Artistic Director, Choreographer, Producer, Ballet mentor
Baltic Ballet Theatre (BBT) was founded in 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania, by director, choreographer and former ballet soloist Marija Simona Šimulynaitė. Her productions are praised for innovation and a futuristic spirit, blending holographic installations, interactive visuals, laser shows, striking lighting and water fountains.
The professional troupe dances in venues ranging from chamber spaces to the largest arenas and theatre stages, fearlessly choosing unconventional settings, avant-garde and Futuristic costumes and spontaneous directorial ideas.
BBT’s record already includes 30+ premières of Ballet, drama, dance, opera and musical projects. The team appears at festivals, public events, TV programmes and private occasions not only in Lithuania but also in Denmark, the Netherlands, Monaco, France, Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Italy and beyond.
Performances feature music by Depeche Mode, Metallica, Björk, ABBA, The Beatles, Queen, Patrick Doyle, Nino Rota and others, as well as classical works. Artistic Director Marija Simona creates original ballets, writing the libretti and designing the visual concepts herself.
Driven by bold imagination, the core ensemble of 25 professional ballet dancers, is joined by guest artists from Brazil, Italy, Ukraine and France.
BBT attracts a wide audience—students, seniors, dance experts and newcomers alike—united by a love of movement and beauty.
BBT, born in Lithuania, belongs to everyone.

The Baltic Ballet Theatre is focusing this season on the Lithuanian Ballet Centenary gala concert tour across the regions of Lithuania. We are the only professional ballet company in Lithuania that nurtures ballet culture in small towns. We participate in both private and public events. We are promoting children’s ballet premiere KARL & FLOWERS on the Baltic States. We are actively collaborating with the French organization “Zik a mazenk.” We are preparing for a tour in Germany of the ballet ANOTHER WORLD, set to the music of Depeche Mode. Also curating the tour of the dance-drama production MINDAUGAS, KING OF LITHUANIA within Sweden’s Lithuanian community.
The Baltic Ballet Theatre (BBT) is a project-based company. It does not receive public or philanthropic support in Lithuania—neither from patrons nor from cultural funding bodies (unfortunately, most budgets are allocated to large state theaters). BBT operates solely on ticket revenue, private events, partnerships with international organizations, festivals, and television projects. Without additional sponsors, staging premieres of higher cultural value is not feasible. Since 2010, BBT has produced premieres thanks to Lithuanian communities abroad, ticket income, and private commissioners who fund special events, later allowing these works remain in our repertoire.
Futuristic ballet “Another World” is based on Depeche Mode music and Haruki Murakami novel “Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World”. The performance is composed of different movements each of which is inspired by symbols, philosophy, visuals and, of course, energetic music. The sound evokes the movement, and all of this transports us to the world of dreams, lights, lasers and visual projections. The entire dance performance is like a constantly disinfected and sterile incubator, where people, their psyche, needs, and emotions are controlled by the invisible and governing “hand of the system”. Individual needs and desires are irradiated and destroyed.
