New Audiences

As a touring company, we’ve an unerring dedication to all audiences. In building a repertoire that speaks to people from diverse backgrounds and affordable ticket prices, we can reach the audiences of the future.

Our seasons are an opportunity to challenge and earn confidence, illustrated by the high attendance of Akram Khan’s Giselle by new audiences. Ensuring artistic integrity runs through our engagement programme, also means we can reach those with the least access to ballet.

Innovation & Creativity

We work with world-class choreographers, composers and designers to create exceptional new ballets. With a sensational premiere in 2016, Akram Khan created a Giselle for c21st audiences. It followed our own classical version of the epic Le Corsaire (2013) and shorter works Lest We Forget (2014) and She Said (2016).

In 2018, we’ll be the first UK ballet company in 20 years to have a new work created by renowned choreographer William Forsythe, premiering in our mixed bill Voices of America.

Emerging Artists

Selected by their peers, six of our most promising dancers perform in front of an eminent panel of expert judges, before one receives the annual Emerging Dancer Award. This inspiring one-off evening is a fantastic opportunity for our rising stars to flourish and be recognised with an accolade.

The People’s Choice Award, selected by members of the public, and the Corps de Ballet Award, acknowledging the work on and off-stage of an Artist of the Company, are also awarded.

Philanthropy

As a charity, our valued supporters help us fulfil our goals, from gifts to our Pointe Shoe appeal to our Friends, Patrons and donors, including our New Forsythe Production Syndicate enabling our exciting original commission by William Forsythe.

We also work closely with corporates who share our values, and trusts and foundations who allow us to undertake our outreach and artistic work. Plus, our glamourous galas provide a unique night of fundraising, with our Spring Gala coming up March 2018.
