Irish National Opera Roadshow
As part of MusicTown 2018, our Platform Member, Irish National Opera, organized a free performance of a new production of Mozart's short opera Der Schauspieldirektor (The Opera Director), particularly aimed at young people. The performance featured a cast of young Irish singers directed by Caroline Staunton, and the Irish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Sinéad Hayes. The performance is particularly aimed at those who have not been to the opera before.

This year's Roadshow took place in the context of the annual Kick-off meeting during which Operadagen Rotterdam presented the complete programme of the 2019 festival edition.
Guy Coolen, the artistic director, introduced this year's theme and presented the content of the festival programme comprising contemporary, innovative, and ground-breaking productions, created by young and established makers from all over the world.
The evening was also an occasion to present some of the major talents and leading-edge makers that will be at the core of this year's programme.

On Saturday, June 12th, together with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Den Jyske Opera invited their audience to a free and festive opera concert under the open sky, where they could experience excerpts from both well-known classics and unknown opera treasures. The audience could enjoy excerpts from Carmen, La Bohème and Fête galante, performed by national and international soloists from the upcoming season: Ksenia Antonova, Christian Damsgaard, Randy Diamond, Sidsel Aja Eriksen, Morten Grove Frandsen, Trond Halstein Moe, Lena Haselmann and Laura Scherwitzl.Read more

This year's Roadshow organised by Teatro Real was organised during the general rehearsal of the opera Capriccio by Strauss.
During this special evening, the young members of the Friends of Teatro Real were invited to attend a presentation by Marisa Vázquez-Shelly about the vision and mission of the Fedora Platform.
