International Opera Awards Winners 2022


The winners of the 2022 International Opera Awards were announced at the Teatro Real in Madrid on November 28, 2022. Founded in 2012, the International Opera Awards is an annual celebration of excellence in opera around the world, aiming at recognising and rewarding success in the field. 


Congratulations to all the winners of the International Opera Award 2022, who are part of our network and past nominees or winners of the FEDORA Prizes!


WINNER OF THE DIGITAL OPERA CATEGORY

Led by Dutch National Opera, this piece by Composer Michel van der Aa was nominated for the FEDORA - GENERALI Prize for Opera 2020.

WINNER OF THE RECORDING (COMPLETE OPERA) CATEGORY

OFFENBACH: LE VOYAGE DANS LA LUNE

Led by Choeur et Orchestre National Montpellier Occitane/Bru Zane in CD edition

La Monnaie De Munt is a Member of the FEDORA Platform and benefits from co-funding from the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission. The project was shortlisted for the FEDORA Opera Prize 2021.  

GOOD GOVERNANCE INSTITUTE LEADERSHIP AWARD 

Nicholas Payne wins Good Governance Institute Leadership Award

Nicholas Payne has led Opera Europa since 2003 and has previously been in charge at English National Opera and the Royal Opera House. Since the launch of the FEDORA Prizes, he has chaired the Opera and Dance jury up until 2021. The same year, he chairs the jury of the first edition of the Next Stage Grants.
