FEDORA's Activities

Collaborating Today To Deliver The Next Steps For The Performing Arts Tomorrow

Since 2015 we have been working closely with Business Schools in order to get young professionals involved in the cultural industry and inform them about the importance of different funding models for opera houses, ballet companies and festivals.
Every year we come together with ESCP Europe Business School students from the master of Marketing and Creativity Programme to conduct Company and Class Consultancy Projects. This year's project was particularly challenging due to the severe impact of the pandemic on the cultural sector, yet very fruitful regarding the potential new opportunities for the future of these art forms.

"We were able to draw from our knowledge of several industries and apply them to related business scenarios in the performing arts sectors, specifically in opera, ballet and festivals. Moreover, as we performed a situational analysis for the project, we were able to understand the importance of the work of FEDORA towards ensuring the future of the performing arts sector. As the need for change and audience rejuvenation is essential, there are very few other network organisations focused on this mission around the world."

"We now understand the potential of crowdfunding, whether it be for a new start-up or a social cause. Often, the reason for a donation made may not be altruistic, but to fulfil the demand of the person reaching out to ask for donations. Remember that sometimes the impact made by the person making the request is more significant than the donor’s existing interest in the cause, and this strategy can greatly contribute to the success of your fundraising campaign!"
