Innovation & Creativity

The Teatro alla Scala is committed to different levels in the field of digital innovation. Extremely active on social networks, it was among the first opera houses to experience direct streaming from the backstage of the shows. The museum has developed an interactive information program for visitors culminating with the possibility of visiting the otherwise un-accessible areas of the theater in virtual reality.

Emerging Artists

Accademia Teatro alla Scala form all the job profiles related to the opera theatre through four Departments – Music, Dance, Stagecraft and Management - thanks to the finest professionals of La Scala and the most highly qualified experts in the field, all sharing the objective of transmitting the theatre’s artistic tradition to the coming generations. Over 1.400 students from 25 nations attend the school every year.

Among the last former students, Roberto Bolle, Anita Rachvelishvili and Pretty Yende.

Philanthropy

The philanthropic activities of the Teatro alla Scala are divided into different areas. La Scala regularly hosts charity concerts; in addition, the Municipality of Milan allocates the proceeds from the sale of part of the tickets for the season opening to social activities. Among the interventions in the city, mention should be made of the contribution to the construction of a theatre inside the Beccaria juvenile detention center; finally, the Museum promotes visits and activities for the elderly and the disabled.
