Claire PASQUIER

Short Bio

Claire Pasquier studied fine arts in France and set design in Milan (Masters in theater set design). After working as a set designer and photographer, she worked as an assistant director in opera in France, Italy, Germany and Austria. She cofounded COLLECTIF MEUTE to develop projects that share artistic gestures with citizens. The collective's productions are part of a sound, formal and process research, which tries to think of creation, distribution and the economic model as part of an organic movment. She develops a scenic language based on the diversity of the participants and their singularities, using participatory projects as a key to create bridges between an art that can be difficult to access and a renewed public that reflects our society. She makes the act of creation itself a militant gesture, experimenting with new forms and trying to create means of production that offer to participants a privileged view of the work and make the creation process a time of mediation.
