Spirit will be a digital storytelling experience through an app or online platform which, using content drawn from Rambert’s new large-scale co-production with The Royal Ballet, Aisha and Abhaya, will use motion capture to drive multiple 3D characters within the everyday setting of local neighbourhoods, streets and parks in the cities the production will tour to throughout 2021. Audiences will be able to walk, stand or dance between the virtual characters via the emergent technology of people occlusion; transposing them between characters within the scene. The interactive and immersive digital experience fusing dance, film, music, art and augmented reality (AR) will be able to be shared via multiple social media platforms, engaging new and current audiences in an innovative, ground-breaking way.
