The FEDORA Education Prize is supported by CARLARA International, in collaboration with RESEO - The European Network for Opera, Music, and Dance Education. The FEDORA Prizes competition is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
Led by Emilio Calcagno and Rosada Letizia Zangri, Yallah Danse! is an international cooperation project between Algeria, Italy, and France. At the heart of the project is a group of 20 Algerian apprentices, most of them self-taught and from urban dance backgrounds, selected after auditions at the French Institute in Algiers. Over the course of the programme, these emerging artists received guidance from international professionals through technical classes, research laboratories, and choreographic composition workshops, as well as opportunities for immersion in professional dance structures in Europe.
The premiere programme features two choreographic works: Les Noces, set to Stravinsky’s iconic score, and Soyez les Bienvenus, with original music by Franco-Algerian composer Malik Djoudi.
More than a performance, Yallah Danse! represents the culmination of a transformative journey for a new generation of Algerian artists, one that fosters creative independence, professional skills, and intercultural exchange.
By bridging continents and disciplines, this initiative led by Compagnie ECO contributes to the structuring and international visibility of the Algerian dance scene, embodying a spirit of collaboration and renewal across the Mediterranean.
