From 27 November to 6 December 2025, choreographer Sharon Eyal and her company S-E-D will present Delay the Sadness at La Villette in Paris. This new creation marks another major step in Sharon Eyal’s exploration of human emotion through movement and collective energy.

Created in collaboration with long-time artistic partner Gai Behar, Delay the Sadness is performed by eight dancers and performed to an original composition by Josef Laimon.

Delay the Sadness is a hypnotic exploration of human emotion and collective presence. Through a distinctive physical language, the dancers navigate a spectrum of states, from calm, meditative trance to intense, tautly charged motion. The choreography emphasises the interplay between individual expression and group dynamics, creating a fluid mosaic of gestures where tension, release, and subtle shifts in energy evoke the fleeting beauty of the present moment. The piece immerses the audience in a sensory experience where movement itself becomes a vessel for connection, and reflection.

Since founding their company in 2013, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar have built an internationally acclaimed repertoire, including the celebrated Love Cycle trilogy.

The second part of Love Cycle, Love Chapter 2, earned Sharon Eyal the FEDORA – VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Dance Prize 2017, supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, in collaboration with Opera Europa as part of the FEDORA Prizes competition, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
