The Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival joins FEDORA’s cultural network as new organisational member.

FEDORA is very happy to welcome its newest organisational member: the Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival, the first ever festival dedicated to opera in Kosovo.

This initiative was launched in 2021, with the aim of introducing classical music and making it more accessible among Kosovars, to highlight the power and beauty of opera. The music serves as a medium that contributes to the empowerment and education of the population, as well as their cultural enrichment by enhancing their understanding of European language and history while preserving their Kosovar culture.

Named after Rame Lahaj, a famous Kosovar tenor who performed in the most prestigious opera houses in the world, the 10-day festival contributes to the support of young artists and to the stimulation of growth and innovation in the opera sector, with the ultimate goal of promoting Kosovo and its cultural heritage on the global stage.

The upcoming 2023 edition of the Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival will be held from 21 July to 31 July in Pristina (Kosovo).
