Operafest Lisboa & Oeiras 2026: Exploring Enigma Through Opera

Ópera do Castelo brought the seventh edition of Operafest Lisboa & Oeiras into focus through a digital visibility campaign presenting a festival where operatic classics meet contemporary creation, new artistic voices and unexpected perspectives under the theme of “Enigma.”

The 2026 edition of Operafest invites audiences to experience opera through a diverse programme spanning established repertoire and contemporary works. The festival programme includes Turandot, The Marriage of Figaro, Anatema, Enigma, Mist and Nothing and the Opera XXI Marathon, alongside talks and other activities.

The campaign introduced audiences to the festival programme ahead of its summer performances, using digital communication to highlight the different productions, artists and creative approaches shaping the new edition.

Running across Lisbon and Oeiras, Operafest continues to explore ways of bringing opera into dialogue with contemporary audiences. The festival combines different formats and artistic perspectives, creating space for both familiar works and new creations within its programme.

Through its 2026 visibility campaign, Ópera do Castelo extended the festival’s reach beyond the stage, giving audiences an early opportunity to discover the artistic programme and the voices contributing to this year’s edition.
