About The Edge of Things

On 25 September, NDT 2 premiered The Edge of Things at Amare, launching the season with an unforgettable evening of contemporary dance. The programme brought together the creative visions of three choreographers and showcased the extraordinary talent of NDT 2’s dancers.

Audiences experienced the world premieres of Once… Never… and again by Associate Choreographer Jermaine Spivey and entropy by Ethan Colangelo, alongside FIT by Alexander Ekman. Each work offered a distinct exploration of movement and emotion, contributing to a rich and thought-provoking performance.

Following its successful debut, The Edge of Things continues its tour across the Netherlands. For international audiences, the programme will be available via NDT’s Digital Theatre as Video on Demand on 27 and 28 December.

Looking ahead, NDT 1 returns to the stage with RESONANCE, premiering on 9 October. This programme features three works that are deeply connected to NDT’s artistic identity: Jiří Kylián’s Mémoires d’Oubliettes, Crystal Pite’s The Statement, and Marco Goecke’s Woke up Blind. On 10 and 11 October, audiences worldwide are invited to experience RESONANCE live during the season’s only livestream.

About NDT 2

Founded in 1978 by Jiří Kylián, NDT 2 was originally established as a talent development initiative for NDT 1. Over time, it has evolved into a fully independent company with a distinctive repertoire and a vibrant international touring presence. The ensemble consists of sixteen recently graduated, often classically trained dancers who bring fresh energy and bold creativity to the stage. During their three-year journey with the company, these emerging artists collaborate with a wide range of choreographers, rapidly adapting to diverse movement styles and artistic approaches. NDT 2 is a space for transformation, experimentation, and innovation—where the next generation of dance talent takes shape.
