"Making Sense(s): Wellbeing through the Arts”: RESEO Brings the Conversation to Tallinn
Industry News
From 23 to 25 October, RESEO will hold its annual conference “Making Sense(s): Wellbeing through the Arts”, hosted by the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn. The event invites arts professionals, educators, artists, and cultural managers to explore how artistic participation fosters health, inclusion, and stronger community ties.
RESEO is a network for arts education and creative learning with a specific focus on opera, music, and dance. As the expert partner of the FEDORA Education Prize, RESEO promotes innovative opera and dance projects that engage new audiences and foster social inclusion, emotional learning, and mutual understanding.
The conference will examine how cultural participation contributes to healthier, more connected societies. Artistic practice has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression, prevent disease, and improve chronic illness management - but also to combat loneliness, strengthen communities, and foster civic belonging.
As the role of artists and educators evolves to include that of facilitators, advocates, and bridge-builders, the RESEO conference offers a vital space for reflection and exchange. Across three days of discussions, workshops, and networking, participants from the fields of arts, education, health, and social work will share cross-sector insights and innovative approaches from across and beyond Europe.
The RESEO Conference 2025 invites arts professionals, educators, artists and cultural managers to explore these new dynamics, how arts practice intersects with health, education and social work and the wellbeing of the communities and professionals at the heart of that work. Hosted by Estonian National Opera, the conference will offer space for critical reflection, exchange, cross-sector collaboration, and perspectives from beyond the European Union. We hope to see many of you there!
