Join the FEDORA Prizes Biennale 2027 as a Volunteer
FEDORA - The European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet (www.fedora-platform.com) is a non-profit organisation that supports creativity and innovation in opera and dance. Through its funding programmes, the FEDORA Prizes Biennale and the Next Stage Grants, FEDORA provides both funding opportunities and capacity-building to its network of 130 opera houses, festivals and dance companies all over Europe.
Internationally recognised as the largest opera and dance competition and European Platform for new works in opera and dance, co-funded by the European Commission, FEDORA aims to guarantee the future of these art forms in Europe. Four prizes are awarded to promising teams who collaborate on the creation of new opera and dance co-productions, and on the involvement and education of new and young audiences. In parallel, the Next Stage Grants are attributed to projects that drive innovation through sustainable, inclusive, and digital transformation on, behind, and beyond the stage.
For the 2027 FEDORA Prizes Biennale, we are looking for volunteers to support our team through two different missions. Volunteering for the FEDORA Prizes Biennale is an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of a European cultural and philanthropic initiative, discover innovative opera and dance projects, connect with artists and cultural professionals from across Europe, and contribute directly to supporting the next generation of performing arts projects.
1. Nominee Announcement Volunteer
On Saturday, 28 November 2026, FEDORA will organise the 2027 FEDORA Prizes Nominee Announcement at the Palais Garnier in Paris, celebrating the projects selected following the first round of the competition.
The event will bring together around 150 guests, including artists, cultural organisations, FEDORA members, partners and institutional representatives.
As a Nominee Announcement Volunteer, you will support the FEDORA team in ensuring that the event runs smoothly and that guests receive a warm and professional welcome.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming guests at the Palais Garnier.
- Assisting with the guest list and check-in.
- Guiding guests throughout the venue.
- Supporting the cloakroom organisation.
- Assisting the FEDORA team with practical event logistics.
- Supporting the reception and catering service when required.
Profile:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, reliable and comfortable interacting with guests.
- Discretion, professionalism and a strong sense of service.
- Interest in culture, opera, dance, philanthropy or the non-profit sector.
Languages:
- Fluent French and English.
- Additional languages are an advantage.
Practical information:
- Contract type: Volunteering.
- Duration: 1 day.
- Date: Saturday, 28 November 2026.
- Location: Palais Garnier, 8 rue Scribe, 75009 Paris.
2. Crowdfunding Campaign Volunteer
Following the Nominee Announcement, the selected projects will take part in the FEDORA Prizes crowdfunding campaigns from 28 November 2026 to 31 January 2027.
The campaigns give nominated artistic teams the opportunity to present their projects to a wider audience, mobilise their communities and raise additional funds to support the development of their work.
As a Crowdfunding Campaign Volunteer & FEDORA Ambassador, you will accompany one or several nominated projects throughout their campaign while also helping promote the FEDORA Prizes and their values within your own networks. You will act as a link between the project, its potential supporters and the wider FEDORA community. This mission can be carried out remotely.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting nominated teams in planning and organising their crowdfunding campaign.
- Helping projects define key messages, target audiences and potential supporters.
- Assisting with campaign content for social media, newsletters and other digital channels.
- Encouraging teams to activate their professional and personal networks.
- Sharing and promoting the nominated projects and the FEDORA Prizes within your own networks.
- Acting as a FEDORA Ambassador by raising awareness of FEDORA’s mission and the importance of supporting innovation in opera and dance.
- Following campaign progress and identifying opportunities to strengthen outreach.
- Liaising with the FEDORA team and sharing relevant campaign updates.
Profile:
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely.
- Interest in fundraising, philanthropy, communication, cultural management or digital marketing.
- Enthusiasm for opera, dance and innovative artistic projects.
- Proactive and comfortable engaging with different audiences and networks.
- Previous experience in fundraising, crowdfunding or communications is welcome but not required.
Practical information:
- Contract type: Volunteering.
- Period: 28 November 2026 - 31 January 2027.
- Location: Remote.
- The mission is flexible and can be organised around the volunteer’s availability throughout the campaign period.
