Join Opera Europa’s Fundraising Forum Meeting at in Leipzig

From 16 to 18 November 2026, the Opera Europa Fundraising Forum will gather at Oper Leipzig for three days dedicated to sharing knowledge, experiences and strategies for developing sustainable fundraising in the performing arts.
Bringing together fundraising and development professionals from across Europe, the meeting will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the fundraising landscape today — from building a fundraising culture across an organisation to engaging donors and diversifying public and private sources of funding.
The programme combines expert presentations, peer-to-peer discussions and practical workshops, offering participants opportunities to exchange experiences and develop new approaches to their fundraising strategies. Sessions will address topics including institutional readiness, team structures and roles, donor engagement, learning from fundraising successes and challenges, and developing effective fundraising strategies.
A dedicated session on Public and Private Funding Sources will bring together perspectives from the European Commission, foundations and major European opera organisations. The discussion will be moderated by Edilia Gänz, Director of FEDORA, alongside Barbara Gessler, Elisabeth Brunmayr and Marisa Vázquez Shelly.
The programme also includes a peer speed-dating session, open tables for participants to discuss their own challenges and seek solutions from colleagues, as well as a guided tour of Oper Leipzig. Participants will have the opportunity to attend performances including La Bohème, Die Zauberflöte and Der Hase mit den Bernsteinaugen; performance tickets are available as additional options through the registration process, subject to availability.
