About the event

On 22 January, the Teatro Real in Madrid hosted a special event as part of the VII Young Talents Cycle of the Banco Sabadell Foundation, bringing together around 150 young participants. The evening opened with an encounter led by Joan Matabosch, Artistic Director of the Teatro Real, who offered an in-depth introduction to Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by Paul Dukas. The talk explored the opera’s central themes of truth, fear, and freedom—drawing on Charles Perrault’s Bluebeard—and provided young audiences with direct insight into the upcoming production.

The event continued with a recital from the Young Talents series, featuring emerging artists from the Reina Sofía School of Music. This free cultural programme, developed in collaboration with the Banco Sabadell Foundation and organised by the Friends of the Teatro Real Foundation, offered young patrons a formative artistic experience while supporting the professional development of the next generation of performers.
