ABOUT FEDORA

FEDORA - The European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet is a non-profit organisation that supports creativity and innovation in the future of opera and dance in Europe. FEDORA acts as a European quality label promoting innovative opera and dance co-productions, created by emerging artists, through the FEDORA Prizes and the Next Stage Grants, as well as its online platform, co-funded by the European Union's Creative Europe programme.

The association uniquely combines European public and private funds to develop new funding models to encourage the sustainable, inclusive and digital transformation of the 130 European opera houses, dance festivals and institutions that are part of its cultural and philanthropic network.

Internship description

We are looking for a new team member to join our international team as Innovation & Partnerships Trainee.

The Trainee reports to the Innovation & Partnerships Manager, but will work closely with all team members to gain insights about the work in a cultural organisation.

The Trainee will gain an understanding of the management of the innovation & partnerships department at a non-profit organisation (that is co-funded by private sponsors and the Creative Europe programme of the European Union) while upholding the highest reporting and audit standards, including collaborations management, artistic project sourcing, operating knowledge of softwares such as Salesforce, project funding, business skills related to cultural institutions and expand their personal and professional skills and network.

Responsibilities include:

  • Funding Programmes & Organisational Membership Coordination:
  • Assist with strategic planning and preparation of the next FEDORA Prizes competition (preparation of call for applications, jury, crowdfunding, public voting and Award Night)
  • Sourcing of projects for the FEDORA Prizes Biennale and prospection of members for the FEDORA network (opera houses, dance companies, festivals, etc)
  • Accompany winning projects of the FEDORA Prizes Competition (promotion of opening nights and content gathering for press relations in collaboration with Communications’ department)
  • Assist in coordinating winner alumni (tracking of project and career developments)
  • Assist in content writing & presentations related to the department’s activities

Support of capacity-building activities:

  • Contribute to activities related to partnerships with other institutions, ex: webinars, events, communications
  • Contribute to the coordination of research projects
  • Contribute to the coordination of expert partners and capacity-building workshops around the topics of sustainability, inclusion and digital transformation for emerging artists

Profile Description

Education & work experience

  • Master’s degree preferably related to business administration, arts & cultural management, international relations
  • Previous experience in project or event management is preferable

Important skills

  • Interest in the sector of opera and dance and or/classical music
  • Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proactive and independent work style, with good team spirit
  • Rigour, attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Language skills

  • English (fluent written and spoken)
  • French fluency is a plus
  • Additional languages are an advantage

Contract Dates

As of April 2026 (4 months, "convention de stage" required).
