From 14 to 18 February 2026, the international performing arts film community will convene in Berlin for Avant Première 2026, the annual trade fair organised by the IMZ International Music + Media Centre. Recognised as a major meeting point for cultural television and VOD content, Avant Première brings together professionals working at the intersection of performing arts, media, and audiovisual innovation.
Our Innovation & Partnerships Manager, Diandra de Lima, will be moderating the panel “Opera 2.0: Interactive, Immersive, International,” led by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama as part of their Immersive Opera research project. The discussion examines how opera is evolving through immersive technologies and cross-disciplinary practices, exploring innovation and R&D, audience engagement and distribution beyond traditional performance, and collaborative models for large-scale projects, drawing on concrete case studies. The panel brings together representatives from Irish National Opera and Kearney, alongside independent opera makers and composers.
Each year, the event welcomes over 600 professionals from more than 150 companies, representing 40+ countries worldwide. The programme offers early previews of opera, dance, and classical music films, alongside a rich conference agenda featuring panels, discussions, and case studies. Extensive networking opportunities enable participants to connect with broadcasters, producers, distributors, festivals, and creative leaders shaping the future of performing arts on screen.
Participants can manage their entire experience through the Avant Première Event Platform, where they can register, secure tickets, plan personalised schedules, and connect with B2B partners from around the world, maximising both visibility and collaboration opportunities.
The IMZ International Music + Media Centre, one of FEDORA’s expert partners, aims to preserve the performing arts as a cultural asset and to promote music and dance through audiovisual media, ensuring performances reach new audiences and are preserved for future generations.
