FEDORA Platform supports the online streaming of "Dark Spring" by the Nationaltheater Mannheim

Dark Spring is a song-opera by Hans Thomalla about four young teenagers who are under extreme pressure to overachieve academically and to score high in the popularity contests at school or at college. The conflict between the expectation to succeed on one hand and the sense of powerlessness in an era of constant stagnation on the other hand grows increasingly acute until it eventually flips into violence.

Inspired by Frank Wedekind's children's tragedy "Frühlings Erwachen" (Spring Awakening), four actors: Shachar Lavi (Wendla, mezzosoprano), Anna Hybiner (Ilse, alto), Magid El-Bushra (Moritz, countertenor) and Christopher Diffey (Melchior, tenor) are distant relatives of the Wedekind characters of the same name.

The short introduction interviews of Christopher Diffey (tenor) and Shachar Lavi (mezzosoprano) were supported by FEDORA.
