Building Audiences, Attracting Sponsors: Leading Fundraising Workshop in Zagreb
FEDORA's Activities
On 15 September 2025, the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb hosted the one-day symposium “Building Audiences, Attracting Sponsors: Models for Success,” as part of the 3rd international edition of the Zagreb Opera Festival.
The event brought together cultural professionals, financial institutions, and creative leaders from across the region to exchange insights on audience development and sponsorship in the arts.
As part of the programme, Diandra de Lima, our Funding Programmes Manager, led a fundraising workshop entitled “Fundraising for Culture: Opening New Possibilities.” In her session, she shared strategies for diversifying income streams, building long-term relationships with donors and sponsors, and aligning fundraising approaches with an institution’s artistic vision. She also underlined the importance of storytelling in fundraising and encouraged participants to think of partnerships as creative collaborations rather than purely financial transactions.
“Diandra’s workshop was truly outstanding and impressed all participants. We believe this was only the beginning of such inspiring encounters in Zagreb, especially since audience development is one of our core strategic priorities,” the symposium organisers shared.Support sustainable innovation in opera and dance
