"Since winning the first FEDORA-Rolf Liebermann Prize for Opera, Operadagen Rotterdam has proudly presented itself as a FEDORA Platform Member. This network offers great possibilities for partnerships and for emerging artists. The fact that small companies and big institutions join forces is an important sign for the future of the art form opera."

Operadagen Rotterdam is an annual festival of new forms of opera and music theatre. With around 100 performances it attracts over 20,000 visitors from all over the world. The festival introduces work by internationally acclaimed artists as well as young and upcoming talents. In a city without its own opera house, Operadagen presents a wide variety of performances not only in theatres and concert halls but also at unexpected locations like a department store, a warehouse, a living room or an old shipyard and even on rooftops and under bridges. Operadagen has strong local connections in many parts of the diverse city of Rotterdam. The innovative programme attracts a large group of professionals worldwide and the festival has become the centre of the latest developments in opera and music theatre. The 13th edition will take place from 18 through 27 May 2018. In 2018 Operadagen Rotterdam will explore its theme for 2017-2020 - ‘Lost & Found’ - with the sub-theme ‘Courage’.
