New Audiences

As the UKs largest touring ballet company BRB is committed to presenting work that is accessible to a wide range of audiences. Main stage performances are delivered with a range of ticket prices to allow all to access these productions.

First Steps is a programme designed for children under the age of 8 as a way of experiencing ballet at the large scale in an accessible format. With a narrator and a shortened length these pieces have been key in developing a new audience for the company.

Innovation and Creativity

BRB’s world-class Jerwood Centre supports the physically demanding aspects of ballet through education and research, and state-of-the-art medical and rehabilitation facilities.

BRB also strives to facilitate creativity and innovation in all areas of our community, best demonstrated by Freefall Dance Company. Comprised of ten highly gifted dancers with severe learning disabilities, Freefall is a ground-breaking initiative which brings the joy of dance to diverse audiences and participants.

Emerging Artists

Ballet Now is a 5 year project supporting the development of emerging choreographers, composers and designers who show originality, insight and world-class potential by offering them a first opportunity to work on the largest scale. Supported by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s world-class resources and experience and a Creative Consortium of renowned industry leaders, we hope that ‘Ballet Now’ artists will ultimately create a legacy of new traditions, new talent, new ballets and new audiences.

Philanthropy

As a charity Birmingham Royal Ballet raises funds through a variety of sources. Whether Trusts and Foundations underpinning our outreach work, Corporate Sponsors that share our values, or individuals passionate about our art form, all our supporters are of deep value to the company and its future work.

Activities are varied and include the Friends' Scheme, Pointe Shoe Appeal and Dancers' Circle giving programmes alongside the Director's Appeal supporting new work and the De Valois Legacy Circle.
